What was your previous work experience before launching your brand?

I previously worked with famous foreign department stores and brands as an original design manufacturer for many years. I had experience with launching and operating as an ODM in Korea with American clothing brands and licenses. After working with leather for a long time, I successfully developed a leather handbag brand in Korea called Oryany.

What is your earliest design memory for this brand?

There is a product called Taylor Mini / Taylor Mid among Oryany products. These are our early product lines with our symbolic logo on them. It's also a steady selling product line that allowed Oryany to exist today.

"Our collection is inspired by the peace of mind and the harmony of the light in the world."

How important is social media to your brand?

For Oryany, social platforms are like DNA. They are used as a media to show consumers what kind of friend we can be to you. Social media is not just about promoting products or sales, but about the creation of products – explaining the concept of the new season, what the brand is supporting and sympathizing with social issues.

Do you have a favorite piece that you have designed?

The Heritage lines with the symbol mentioned above are some of my favorites; however, current modern and trendy lines give me new inspiration and energy.

Where do you find inspiration?

Our collection is inspired by the peace of mind and the harmony of the light in the world.

What would you like your brand to be known or recognized for?

I hope Oryany is a brand that inspires people to balance their lives, consume rationally and restores their monopoly.

How would you describe your personal style?

Similar to the style of the Oryany brand, I prefer modern, simple, modern and affordable luxury. I believe Oryany is a reflection of myself.

"We are trying to benefit end-users by designing products that are convenient and satisfying to use."

What is your favorite fashion film/show?

Actually, every time a new Oryany pictorial comes out, that is my favorite film. The most recent Oryany film, FW20 pictorial is my favorite fashion film.

What is the best piece of business advice you’ve heard? Do you follow it?

A life that benefits others and benefits oneself is a life that is truly fulfilling. I learned that the purpose of design should be to benefit the end consumer. It's not just about design; it's about keeping in mind that commercial designers are always associated with consumers. We are trying to benefit end-users by designing products that are convenient and satisfying to use.

How is the fashion industry different today than from when you started out?

I feel that the environment has changed a lot, not to mention the importance of online markets. For handbags, it seems that the design of a single product is now more important than the concept of the full collection.
