We know we can't single-handedly save the planet, but we also know that every little bit helps. That's why we chose to work exclusively with merino wool, a natural luxury fabric that's cruelty-free and eco-friendly, and implement sustainable practices.
Luxury goods and sustainability don't have to be mutually exclusive terms. Unlike other brands, which create merino wool blends, every one of our garments is created with 100% merino wool. This means your Romeo Merino garment is ultra-soft, high-performance, and made to last. We understand that we can't save the planet on our own and we're always striving to improve our own processes and offerings to reduce our carbon footprint and minimize our impact on the environment. Everything is a journey, and we're excited to improve along the way. With that said, here are some of the practices that we think are a pretty great start:
WE DON'T OVERPRODUCE
We focus on timeless classics, ensuring that no matter the season or the trends, our pieces will always be in style. Our garments are made to last for years to come, not only because of their superior materials and production but also because of their timeless styles. This means less harmful dumping and wasting of resources. Even though your merino wool garment can last you for years, once it's in the ground, the fabric naturally biodegrades within twelve months and is released back into the planet as carbon and nutrients.
WE USE EARTH-FRIENDLY PROCESSES
Our sweaters are crafted under remarkably responsible parameters to protect planet earth. Our signature dying process utilizes the least amount of chemical products possible, we reduce water consumption by reusing water, and we ensure that every step is completed in the most sustainable way possible.
WE RECOGNIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF ECO-FRIENDLY PACKAGING
While we would love to deliver your Romeo Merino in sleek and colorful packaging, we wanted to ensure that every aspect (even down to the deliveries) is done with the environment in mind. That’s why our shipping boxes and protective wrapping are made of certified recycled paper and our care booklets are made from sugar cane.
WE LOVE THE ANIMALS
We love our sheep and that’s why we only work with farmers with the highest industry standards and certifications for animal care. Our sheep are guaranteed non-mulesed sheep, and our wool is produced sustainably with low environmental impact.
