After giving up her career as an attorney, Susan transformed her lifelong passions for design and fashion by launching Susan Hanover Designs. Her first collection of designer jewelry received considerable attention, enabling her to make a notable place for herself in the highly competitive accessories market. Her stone-wired bracelets quickly became signature pieces, recognized around the world for their sophisticated yet whimsical style. Susan has several hundred accounts nationally and numerous accounts in Japan, Dubai, Hong Kong, Munich and London. Some recognizable retailers have included: Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, Intermix, Calypso, Neiman Marcus, Harvey Nichols and so many more. Susan's designs continue to evolve with each season, yet she always remains true to the original form that makes her line so distinctive. Her inspiration is drawn from an eclectic blend of design, art, fashion, New York and world travel. While earthy, faceted semi-precious stones are often featured in her work Susan's collections center around her love for design. Having studied art for many years she views her work simply as "a subtle balance between the design and the medium so that one does not overcome the other and a symbiosis is formed." Her designs have been cited or featured in a number of publications including The New York Times, Departures, Town & Country, Harpers Bazaar, InStyle and Vogue. Susan's cuffs have become a "must-have" piece for red carpet struts, television appearances and fashion shoots. They have been seen on the wrists of Beyonce, Sienna Miller, Blake Lively, Kelley Ripa and Katie Holmes. The first Lady, Mrs. Obama is a huge fan and has worn her earrings to some major White house events. Susan's earrings have been picked twice for Oprahs Favorite Things, in 2013 and now again, they made the 2015 coveted list. Her past partnership with (PRODUCT) (RED) and a partnership with Christy Turlington's Every Mother Counts has positioned Susan among top retailers and brand names, committed to aiding humanitarian causes, demonstrating her evolution as a social minded contemporary designer.
